Quingdao to build High-speed Wire Rod Mill

In April 2001, Qingdao Iron & Steel Group awarded Danieli Morgards-hammar the contract for the supply of a new high-speed wire rod mill for the production of 0.35 Mtpy of specialty steel wire rod. This new state-of-the-art plant will feature latest innovative technologies and will be one of the most modern and technologically advanced high-speed wire rod mills in China.A production finishing speed of up to 110 m/s (140 m/s design speed) will be achieved through an 8-pass Delta-type prefinishing block plus a tour-pass (2+2). TMB finishing block, allowing to reach very close size tolerances (down to +- 0.1 mm) for the entire range of 4.5 to 20 mm dia wire rod sizes.
