The cosmic-ray facility to test the ALICE-TOF modules and the final electronics

The Time-Of-Flight (TOF) detector of ALICE is made of 90 modules which contain the active elements of the system: the MRPCs (Multigap Resistive Plate Chambers), tfach assembled module is tested in a cosmic-ray facility to check the required performances for the whole system. The signals from the MRPC strips inside the modules are collected and processed through the complete front-end and readout chain that will be used in the experiment. In this paper the methods applied and the results obtained with the first assembled modules are discussed.
