The topology of spatially flat or spherical models of the universe

摘要

Working with the symmetries of the visible part of spatially flat or spherical models of the universe, we show that no multiconnected model has the properties to match up the physical and cosmological data. Therefore, if the universe has flat or spherical spatial sections, then these sections must be simply connected.
