The Chief Guest, Mr T Harish Rao, Minister for Major Irrigation, Marketing and Legislative Affairs, Government of Telangana, stressed the urgent need for protecting the environment from pollution and contamination from hazardous elements, so as to make the planet sustainable for the present as well as for the future generations. Mr B Chandra Shekar, former Engineer-in-Chief, Public Health and Municipal Engineering Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, graced the occasion as Guest-of-Honour. Mr G L Rao and Mr G Prabhakar, Past Presidents, IEI, also attended the function. The Keynote Address was delivered by Mr M Satyanarayana, Engineer-in-Chief and Director (Projects), Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board. Mr R Vidyasagar Rao, Advisor (Irrigation) to Government of Telangana was the distinguished Guest and addressed the gathering. Mr G Sudhakar, Chairman of the Centre, presided over the function.
