Expanding Frontiers in Aerospace Technologies -Challenges and Opportunities

The Andhra Pradesh State Centre of the Institution organized the Twenty-sixth National Convention of Aerospace Engineers and National Seminar on 'Expanding Frontiers in Aerospace Technologies - Challenges and Opportunities' during November 24-25, 2012 at Hyderabad. Prof T Narayana, Chairman of the Centre, welcomed the gathering and Dr R Krishnamurthy, Convener of the Convention briefed about the Convention. The Chief Guest, Padmashri Dr V K Saraswat, Scientific Advisor to Raksha Mantri and Director General, DRDO, inaugurated the Convention and addressed the gathering. He stressed the need of using advanced technologies for developing state-of-art weapon system. He explained the aeronautical strength of our country in terms of a developed spectrum of space technology. He also emphasized upon development of a strong technological base in aerospace engineering and the design capability and other related systems of modern aircrafts including integration of artificial intelligence and embedded systems. The methodology to conceptualize the advanced aerospace technology with the objective to build competent aerospace professionals to meet the scarcity of skilled manpower in different fields of aerospace engineering is the need of the hour, added Dr Saraswat.
