A comparison ofPralylenchusspp. (nematoda) population densities in grass and apple roots

Pralylenchusspp. populations from the roots of some apple trees (Malus pumilaMill.) were compared with those extracted from the roots of grasses growing under the tree canopies. All results indicate a significant predominance of the grass root populations over those from apple roots. The possible economic significance of this is discussed.
