Equipment note. A low-cost, accurate electronic anthropometer

A fast, accurate, portable anthropometer was designed and built to measure different standing and sitting body dimensions of a sample of 1440 pregnant women. The new apparatus has a dual digital display to facilitate a double check of readings. The compatibility with many microcomputers can be utilized to achieve reliable recording and calculation automatically. The apparatus consists mainly of a base, an adjustable seat, a vertical rail, and a sliding measuring assembly.
