TCP-Peach for satellite networks: analytical model and performance evaluation

摘要

Current TCP protocols have low thruoghput performance in satellitenetworks mainly due to the effects of long propagation delays andhigh link error rates. TCP-Peach is new congestion control scheme forsatellite IP networks based on the use of low priority segments,called dummy segments. The sender transmits dummy Segments to probethe availability of network resources. Dummy segments are treated aslow priority Segments thus, they do not effect the throughput ofactual data segments.
