Status and commissioning of the CMS Tracker Detector

With about 200 m2 of active silicon area the CMS Silicon StripTracker (SST) is the largest silicon tracker ever built. After more than ten years ofR&D, construction and extensive testing, the SST is finally installed and ready totake data. This report will review the integration phases and the results of the testswith cosmic-ray muons used to qualify the detector.
