Step one: The Mineralogical Record has been the international journal of serious mineral collecting since its inception in 1970, and its current editor-in-chief has been at the helm for over 30 years. The Record, as it is known, is the voice of experience and authority in our field. So the first step an aspiring world-class collector should take is to acquire a complete set of back issues, and a subscription. Read the whole run of issues and you will develop a perspective on the development and history of mineral collecting, along with a wealth of information on minerals and their localities.
