AbstractGoldfishCarassius auratusL., larvae were raised on a diet of yeast, rice flour, vitamins and a lipid source consisting of 10 of either canola oil (CAN) or cod liver oil (COD) or a mixture of 5 of each (MIX). Survival of larvae raised on CAN or MIX diets was comparable to that of larvae raised on COD diets. In longer‐term experiments, growth was superior and development more rapid in larvae receiving the COD die
