Though Attractively Priced at $899, the Fujitsu Life-Book V1010 comes up short compared with other budget models. Designed for the business market, the 6.2-pound V1O10's matte-black finish doesn't do much to excite the eye, though we did like the off-white keyboard. (Fujitsu also claims the keyboard is spill-resistant.) Unfortunately, the touch pad lacks a scroll strip, and you won't find any multimedia controls. Images and video look quite nice on the V1010's sharp, bright 15.4-inch wide-screen LCD, but the notebook's speakers sound tinny and anemic.
