Imperial turbocharge lets engine harness exhaust gas pulse energy

Imperial College London is developing a turbocharger which it says has the potential to create fuel-efficient internal combustion engines with lower carbon emissions. Turbochargers work by using the energy from exhaust gas to spin a turbine, which in turn propels an air pump that compresses the air coming into the engine, delivering more air to the engine for a significant power boost.
