Power management company, Eaton has integrated the amended characteristics of 'IE3 ready' motor protection devices into its free CurveSelect software. This enhanced functionality is said to make it even easier to compare the tripping characteristics of protection devices. Thus, the design of switchgear and distribution systems can easily be optimised to deliver maximum availability and reliability while adhering to the new European energy efficiency regulation. CurveSelect can be used to assess not only interaction between a wide range of Eaton products, but also between Eaton products and those of other manufacturers.
