Following a decision to manufacture products for other companies Gumlink needed to make changes to its production philosophy. It made the decision to focus on OEE to help optimise production performance. When Gumlink made the decision to sell its own chewing gum brands and manufacture products for other companies instead, it became necessary to transform its production process. Manufacturing for business customers requires a greater degree of flexibility and efficiency to handle the different products and packaging required. This transformation also required a change in production philosophy.
