This paper discusses the main destabilizing factors that cause misadjustment, defocusing, and variation of certain characteristics of a space telescope during its operation, measures for limiting their action, and principles for the construction of service systems (for monitoring the status of the main optical component of the telescope-its objective) as a basic means of maintaining the quality of the resulting images. The paper includes diagrams and the main characteristics, confirmed by full-scale experiments, along with the implemented and expected characteristics of the developed service systems.
