Results from The Pharmaceutical Journal's annual salary and job satisfaction survey for 2022 suggest that nearly a quarter of pharmacists aged between 55 and 64 years are planning to retire within the next year. This means that the profession could lose more than 1,500 pharmacists in the next 12 months. The annual survey of pharmacists practising in Great Britain found that 67 of the 291 participants aged between 55 and 64 years (23) answered 'yes' when asked whether they were planning to retire within 12 months.
