Accidents to children are a significant health issue, being a major cause of preventable death, serious injury and long-term disability across the UK. Under-fives are particularly at risk of being injured in home accidents but most are preventable through increased awareness, improvements in the home environment and greater product safety. The RoSPA Virtual Safety Kitchen has been created by Safe Kids Germany in association with Ariel and Lenor. The Kitchen is designed from the perspective of an 18-month-old child. Based on high resolution 360° photos, users can pan around the room to discover what might make children curious, with information on potential risks such as falls, choking, scalds, burns and poisoning.
