Fortescue Future Industries will explore the possibility of transforminga Washington coal mine that once supplied a 670-MW coal plant into agreen hydrogen production facility, Fortescue has said.Fortescue Future Industries, a subsidiary of the Australian iron orecompany Fortescue Metals Group, entered into a binding exclusivityagreement announced May 13 with the Industrial Park at TransAlta, anon-profit formed to promote redevelopment of 4,400-acres in LewisCounty formerly used for coal mining. Coal removal ended in 2006.
