India’s state-controlled refner IOC reported a decrease in its proft for the October-December 2022 quarter to 4.5bn rupees ($54.6mn) because of a maintenance shutdown at its 301,000 b/d Panipat refnery. IOC had reported a proft of Rs58.6bn during October-December 2021. The frm’s Panipat refnery in northern India underwent a 65-day turnaround starting in mid-September. Despite the turnaround, IOC’s refnery throughput rose to 18.2mn t (1.45mn b/d) in October-December from 17.4mn t in the year-earlier period.
