Ian Hutton came to Lord Howe Island in 1980, and has been studying, observing, photographing and writing about the natural history since. He has co-authored over 50 scientific papers and ten popular guide books to the island. In 2006 Ian was awarded the OAM for conservation; and in 2020 an Honorary Doctorate in Environmental Sciences. To support his environmental interests Ian runs nature tours on the island.
