摘要

Today more than ever we, as designers of dust collection and or filtration systems, have a myriad of filtration media to choose from. Years ago, from I960 to 1970, the most common media in use were polyester, polypropylene and cotton sateen. We all realized through either education or by trial and error that surface retention or surface filtration offered benefits over traditional depth loading media. It was to this end then that media enhancement such as glazed, eggshell and singed finishes startedentering into our conversations and designs. The goal was and still is to be able to retain as much of the particulate or dust on the surface of the media; and prevent it from entering too deeply into the pores of the material, making it easier to release. This then maintains a lower operating stabilized pressure drop and lowers energy consumption and cost.
