? 2022 Elsevier B.V.Although many reports have improved the electrochemical performance from the perspective of changing the nanostructure of MnO2, such as the hydrothermal method and high temperature solid phase method, few studies modulate the morphology of MnO2 at low temperature. In this work, the nanorod-sphere hybrid MnOx with better cycling stability was successfully synthesized by thiourea reduction of low crystallinity MnO2. The oxygen defects introduced by thiourea reduction accelerate the electrochemical kinetics and effectively improve its cycle stability. The MnOx exhibits enhanced cycling stability with 78.9 capacitance retention compared with that of pristine MnO2 (3.9).
