7th World Buffalo Congress & 41st PSAS Convention focus on buffalo-based enterprises under changing trade regulations and consumer demand
The Philippines successfully hosted the 7th World Buffalo Congress (WBC) on October 20-23, 2004 with the Makati Shangri-la Hotel as venue. A total of 503 delegates from 29 countries participated in the international scientific gathering organized by the International Buffalo Federation (PBF), Department of Agriculture-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) and the Philippine Society of Animal Science (PSAS). The sponsoring agencies were the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCARRD), Hinds Agro of India, Bureau of Agriculture Research (BAR), Livestock Development Council (LDC), National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), National Dairy Authority (NDA) and General Mercantile Corporation.
