The Dadi-angas goal strain may yet be the answer to the country's goat upgrading problem, reports a leading livestock expert. "With its potential as a dual breed and with its unique productive features, the Dadiangas strain could very well serve as the key to the upgrading of existing native strains," Dr. Comelio P. Subsuban, a professor at the University of Southern Mindanao (SM), told reporters. Dr. Subsuban heads an ongoing study on the performance of the Dadiangas goat and the Dadiangas-Anglo Nubian grades. The study initially found the physical features of the Dadiangas strain to be "promising for the improvement of local genetic resources."
