The need for a veritable economic blueprint that promises the provision of quality food of animal origin for each and every Filipino has been foremost among the concerns of the Bureau of Animal In-dustry. Thus, in early 1993, along with the other Livestock Agencies of the Depart-ment of Agriculture, BAI immediately buckled down to the crucial task of lead-ing the conception of the Medium-Term Livestock Development Plan (1993-1998), which shall serve as the framework of development policy making in the next five (5) years.
