摘要

In future, sampling programmes and salmonella screening and isolation methods are expected to come into force for poultrymeat and egg production farms in the EEC. Reports on the isolation of Salmonella, Campylobacter and Listeria and Staphylococcus aureus have shown the involvement of commodities such as poultry, poultrymeat, eggs and egg products. From these potentially pathogenic micro-organisms the presence of Salmonella enteritidis (SE) in poultrymeat and eggs causes a special threat to the marketing of these products. Reports on the increased SE contamination of eggs and egg products have appeared since 1985. Also the number of cases of human Salmonel-losis caused by SE has increased dramatically throughout the world. SE has become the main cause of human Salmonellosis in several European countries.
