FDA approves new PI

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted accelerated approval of the new protease inhibitor (PI), darunavrr, June 23, 2006 Darunavir, which was known as TMC-114 during development and will be marketed as Prezista, will now be available for HIV-positive patients in the United States whose infection is not responding to treatment with other antiretroviral drugs.
