Banana (Musa pamdisiaca sapientum) fruit peeling meal increased weight gain on Cobb broilers

The experiment was conducted to examine the effects of banana peeling meal as substitute for broiler finisher ration. The study was carried out in a Randomized Complete Block Design with five treatments replicated three times, and each replication consisted of three birds with a total of 45. The levels of banana peeling meal mixed as substitute for commercial broiler finisher ration were 0, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. Ad libitum feeding was practiced throughout Uie duration of the study. The highest weightgain was observed from broilers fed with ration having 10 per cent mixture of banana peeling meal. There was a positive linear relationship of feed intake with the levels of BPM. The average daily intake increases as the levels of banana peeling meal mixtures increased. The feed conversion efficiency were 3,3.1,3.2,3.5 and 3.7 kg for 10%, 0%, 5%, 15% and 20% BPM mixture, respectively.
