RP remains at No. 2 in DCN exports

The Philippines, once the world's biggest exporters of desiccated coconut (DCN) is expected to continue to lag behind Sri Lanka the domestic output continued to reel from the adverse effects of the previous year's bad weather condition. The combined export of desiccated coconut by three leading producing countries is estimated at 140,658 metric tons (MT) in 1996, nearly 14 per cent lower than year-ago shipments of the Philippines (CAP) show.
