Breeder management in the tropics

In tropical countries, where temperatures are often in excess of 30 degrees C, special management is needed to maintain breeder productivity. The broiler industry today, needs to produce a highly efficient broiler, with rapid weight gain, good feed conversion and high livability, resulting in the highest meat yield possible. At the same time, geneticists must maintain broiler breeder parent stock production at the highest possible level. Continued emphasis on high numbers of hatching eggs and high hatchability to provide the greatest number of day-old broiler chicks is imperative.
