The effect of cooked and uncooked ration for growing pigs

Pigs fed with uncooked ration had a total gain in weight of 500.86 kg., whereas those fed with cooked ration, gained 424.12 kg. To produce a kilogram gain in weight, lot I (experiment 1) required 4.48 kg of feed and lot II, 5.10 kg, in trial 1 (experiment 2) lot I required 4.97 kg and lot II, 5.81 kg; and trial 2, lot I required 3.39 kg and lot II 3.45 kg. Feces voided by pigs have been commonly observed to contain partly undigested materials, especially corn, resulting in a great loss of nutrients,thus requiring more feed consumption to compensate for the nutrient deficiencies.
