Engineering charity helps industry pull through the pandemic

Last month, I came across the work of Foothold (the IET Benevolent Fund), a charity committed to providing personalised support in times of difficulty to engineers around the world. Unsurprisingly, the charity has seen an unprecedented rise in requests for help during the pandemic. From July 2020 to June 2021, Foothold successfully provided ￡2.1 million's worth of support to 1,275 engineers in 50 countries - an increase of 49 percent from the previous year.
