Some physiological and biochemical changes correlated with work in the Philippine carabaoand Phil-Murrah crossbreed

A total of eight untrained and intact buffalo bulls, consisting of four each of Philippine carabao (PC) and PC X Murrah buffalo crossbreeds (PM), were used to study the biochemical and physiological responses to work and generation of draft animal power (DAP). Biochemical data were analyzed using ANOVA in Split-Plot; DAP and physiological responses to work were analyzed using ANOVA in a 2 X 2 X 4 factorial; and Student's t-test was used to analyze the differences in endurance time between breed types during the training period.
