RUBBER Major rubber processors and components makers posted a generally positive set of business results at the third-quarter stage but painted a mixed picture for market prospects going forward. Among the major players, Continental AG's ContiTech business saw sales grow over the third quarter and first nine months, though overall year-to-date earnings came in below the prior-year level. For the third quarter, the Hanover, Germany-based industrial rubber products manufacturer reported 20 growth in sales to €1.7 billion, and a 16.8 increase in earnings to €170 million.
