Us coke output to rise this year

overall Us petroleum coke production is expected to rise this year but will skew towards high-sulphur coke output, poten-tially ofering support for low-and mid-sulphur coke pricing. US coke production through September totaled 30.12mn t, according to the most recent energy Information Administra-tion data. And with monthly output averaging 3.35mn t, the US may fnish out 2022 with 40.2mn t produced, an increase of 7pc from 2021 totals and the highest production since 2019. Refnery rates are expected to remain elevated in 2023, mar-ket participants said.
