The Midcontinent Independent System Operator released Sept. 13 a request for proposals as part of a multibillion-dollar transmission plan that the grid operator hopes will create a more interconnected, greener power grid throughout its 15-state territory in the central US. The proposal calls for transmission developers to pitch plans to construct, own, operate and maintain a double-circuit 345 kV transmission line located in Indiana.
