摘要

TiO2 is widely used on photocatalytic degradation of organic compounds under UV light irradiation. However, only 3-5 of the sunlight can be utilized during the degradation process because of the broad band gap of TiO2. CdS, as a low band gap semiconductor material, loaded onto TiO2 can increase the absorption of photons. In this paper, the spry-liked CdS-TiO2 one-dimensional composite nanomaterial was synthesized by combining electrospinning and hydrothermal methods. Compared with pure TiO2 nanofibers, the composite nanofibers exhibited higher efficiency of photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange under simulated sunlight. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of CdS-TiO2 nanofibers could be attributed to the synergistic effect of CdS nanoparticles loaded onto the surface of TiO2 nanofibers. Furthermore, the CdS-TiO2 composite nanofibers are easily reutilized due to their one-dimensional nanostructure.
