Veracruz-Braskem Idesa and Advario have signed an agreement in which Advario will acquire a joint 50 stake in the construction and operation of Puerto Mexico Chemical Terminal, a greenfield ethane import terminal planned in Veracruz, Mexico (PCN, 25 Oct 2021, p 2). The estimated $400-million terminal, to be built in the municipalities of Coatzacoalcos and Nanchital, will be connected to Braskem Idesa's complex via pipeline. Construction is expected to begin in July 2022, with completion planned by the end of 2024. Approximately 2,000 jobs are expected to be created during construction. In addition, a new jetty will be built in the Pajaritos lagoon with an exclusive area for operations with cryogenic ethane.
