The offshore industry has changed in recent years. Consistently low oil prices have meant that cost efficiency has become a more pressing concern than previously. This impacts all aspects of production, including offshore personnel transfers. At the same time, as cost has grown in relevance, the prioritization of safety has retained its critical importance. Against this background, marine access solutions are gaining traction in the industry, despite in many cases production taking place off the continental shelf farther from shore. In such a model, a fast crew supply vessel is used not just in its familiar, nearshore environment, but also at distances of up to 150 nautical miles, or approximately five hours from the coast.
