Speaking jointly at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show last fall, Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn and Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche spoke warmly about the progress being made in the collaboration between the companies. In a joint statement, the companies indicated that production of the new Smart two-seater was due to begin soon, followed by the new Twingo and four-seat Smart at the Renault plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, ahead of the market launch in the second half of 2014.
