Some of the most challenging things we face in the framework of 'evidence-based practice' are when we move to the arts and crafts side of our role. How can we ask questions of the best ways to deliver the news of an unsurvivable relapse of sarcoma? Is it really possible to evaluate the value of a new surgical approach in fracture repair or leg reconstruction? A straight-up randomised clinical trial would never do!
