NASHVILLE - Roger Penske's proposed acquisition of General Motors' Saturn brand does not include a single car factory or design studio. Penske will have to hustle around the globe to buy the vehicles he needs to keep Saturn alive. That's the same challenge that killed Saturn as a GM brand in the first place: GM couldn't - or wouldn't - create all the new models it should have, or could have, for Saturn to thrive. No new models, no new sales.
