With the popularization of the Yamane flanged technique using 3-piece intraocular lenses and Canabrava double-flanged polypropylene for capsular tension segment, modified capsular tension rings, intraocular lenses, and iris attachments in recent years, the editorial by Liliana Werner was written at an excellent time to raise awareness on preventing complications that can occur when applying these techniques.
