With a deep sorrow we inform that Vadim Aleksandrovich Malyshev, Professor, an outstanding Russian mathematician, the founder of the journal "Markov Processes and Related Fields" passed away on September 30, 2022, on his 85th year. V. A. Malyshev was born on 13th of April, 1938 in Moscow. He was graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Moscow State University in 1961, and completed his PhD studies at the same Department. V.A. Malyshev was awarded a PhD degree in 1966 for the Thesis "Statistical theory of experiments with automata". In 1973 he received a DrSci degree for the Thesis "Boundary problems for functions of two complex variables and their applications" .
