Everyone at Buses was sad to learn of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Ⅱ on September 8, 2022. It had not been long since the magazine had been covering buses in Platinum Jubilee livery, celebrating 70 years of her reign. What change the bus industry has seen over all those years. Many in the industry marked the occasion, with some bus liveries quickly adapted and the 50th and final Showbus aiming to have a bus on display from every year of the Queen's reign. The event certainly had bookings from each of those years, which is quite an achievement. I watched much of the coverage, at times unsure what else to do, and share the view that the funeral and the ceremony leading up to it were all beautifully handled. What I do not sympathise with is the attitudes of many of the world leaders who attended, when they found out they would need to travel by coach.
