Officials bust vehicle fraud ring - Authorities: Cars acquired in Canada were driven to U.S., shipped to Africa

An international crime ring that fraudulently acquired vehicles from Canadian dealerships, drove them into the United States and shipped them to western Africa is being thwarted by a cooperative effort, authorities say. Members of the ring, led by foreign nationals, used falsified documents to acquire more than 120 vehicles valued at $5.4 million, authorities say.
