THE DUTCH COUNCIL of Ministers has approved plans for construction of two new nuclear power units, each with a power of l,000-l,650MWe, with Borssele as the preferred location. CONSTRUCTION HAS BEGUN at the Akkuyu NPP, under construction in Turkiye, of the first of three lifting bridge cranes in the machine room at unit 1. The first and largest is a bridge electric double-beam crane with a lifting capacity of 350 tonnes.
