Mazda unveils fuel-efficient engine family - Powerplants won't be shared with Ford

YOKOHAMA, Japan - Mazda Motor Corp. unveiled a new generation of fuel-efficient engines and said its former parent, Ford Motor Co., won't get them. The engines will consume less fuel and deliver higher torque as a result of Mazda's re-engineering everything from compression ratios and combustion duration to intake volume.
