Dealer Ralph Reedman Jr. pioneered the auto mall, operating as many as 17 new-vehicle franchises and regularly selling 60,000 cars and trucks a year from under his single dealership's very large roof. "We were the first, and probably the only true, auto mall - the largest dealership in the world at one location," says Reedman's nephew Herbert Reedman Jr., a former vice president of operations at Reedman World Auto Center in the Philadelphia suburb of Langhorne, Pa. "We had all three of the Detroit 3 in one massive showroom, along with foreign imports when they weren't so popular."
